Help us celebrate 10 years of Mitchelville! Join us for our anniversary forum. From Gullah Food to Black Business ownership, you’ll hear from Dr. Jessica B. Harris, Author of “High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America,” to Victoria Smalls, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.

What had begun as only a military mission grew into something more than that. Mitchelville became a vibrant, self-governed community, both defined and accentuated by the customs and cultures.
