Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park invites the public to the 2025 Freedom Day event, an inspiring exploration of African American contributions to labor and the development of Historic Mitchelville as a thriving economy under the leadership of General Harriet Tubman.

The event will feature presentations by acclaimed speakers, including Dr. Edda Fields-Black, author of the forthcoming book COMBEE: Harriet Tubman, the Combahee River Raid, and Black Freedom during the Civil War (Oxford University Press, February 2024), and, sculptor of Harriet Tubman – The Journey to Freedom. The SCAD Bee Sharps will provide musical performances throughout the program.
