Join us for an unforgettable day at the 11th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park — a community gathering filled with music, culture, food, and family-friendly fun. Spend the day “Where Freedom Began” and experience the vibrant spirit of one of the most historic places in the Lowcountry.

Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and umbrellas to relax and enjoy the full day of festivities in the shade of our majestic oaks.

Entertainment Highlights

  • Gospel Music all morning with Marti Baker as our Emcee, featuring local and regional choirs, including the Voices of El Shaddai, Youth Choir from First Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bluffton
  • A special appearance by Marlena Smalls at the Praise House
  • Afternoon Fun beginning at 12:30 pm includes Line dancing, Karaoke, and an Old-School Dance Contest
  • Leela James Headlines the Main Stage! Powerhouse singer and songwriter Leela James will close the celebration with a high-energy R&B performance

  • Food Truck Village serving up seafood, tacos, traditional Gullah favorites, and frozen treats

Additional Information

Lawn chairs and refillable water bottles are welcome. No coolers, outside food, or alcohol permitted.

Parking

Park at nearby Historic Churches on Beach City Road or Barker Field. Free shuttle service is provided throughout the day.

We welcome artists, crafters, food vendors, and nonprofit organizations to be part of this vibrant day of culture, history, and community.

Vendor Categories & Fees

  • Art, Craft & Prepared Food Vendors: $106; Includes baked goods, coffee, frozen treats, and other pre-packaged foods.
  • Food Truck Vendors: $206; For vendors cooking and serving food onsite.
  • Nonprofit Partners: Free; Local nonprofits may register to host an informational booth at no cost, but registration is still required.

Note: Vendor registration does not include tents, tables, or chairs. All vendors must have an active
Town of Hilton Head Island Business License to participate.
