Celebrate “Where Freedom Began” and get ready to boogie down at the 10th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park! This year, we’re adding a sprinkle of disco magic to our commemoration of freedom and community.
Kick off the day grooving to the soulful sounds of Grammy Award-winning artist Quiana Parler, setting the stage for a fabulous celebration. Then prepare for the main event—a spectacular performance by the legendary S.O.S. Band known for irresistible R&B hits like “Take Your Time (Do It Right),” “Just Be Good to Me,” and “The Finest,” they’ll keep you dancing all afternoon in true disco style.
For just $10, you can join this unforgettable celebration of the enduring legacy of Historic Mitchelville. Dive into delicious eats and delightful treats from local food trucks and vendors, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, flaunt your best disco outfits, and stay hydrated with water bottles as we celebrate Juneteenth with a day filled with music, history, and community spirit.

🚗 Please Park at the Historical Churches on Beach City Road and At Barker Field, Shuttles will be provided. Lawn Charis and Water are welcome, please no coolers, outside food, or alcohol.

Set-Up: All vendors must be set up and ready 1 hour prior to event start times and will ask that you stay through the duration of the event. No vehicles will be allowed into the park during the event.
